Albert Besnard (1849-1934): Belle Époque Modernities.

The Petit Palais offers a major retrospective of the first painter to be granted a State funeral, the much-honoured Albert Besnard.

Through a display of his great works, the exhibition looks at the late symbolist and champion of the curvaceous silhouette by way of his portraits and murals.

Appropriately, his grand decoration work included painting the dome of the vestibule of the Petit Palais.
