The Merovingian Age

The Merovingian Age

At the Cluny Museum, until February 13th, a major exhibition looks at the Merovingian period in Europe, which marked the beginning of the Middle Ages following the collapse of the Roman Empire.

Over 150 artefacts, illuminated manuscripts, sculptures, coins, precious items of gold and silver, textiles and archival documents are on display in a collaboration with the National Library of France. You can see many masterpieces, including the wealth of King Childeric’s tomb, the Treasure of Gourdon and the famous throne of Dagobert.
